Kodaikanal Trip

It was a wonderful evening when we started our dream journey to Kodaikanal. Because of the long weekend due to Good Friday and Easter, all the buses were full packed. We were lucky enough to get the last 3 seats in the 'special bus'. Me and Vijith went to Majestic by auto together and Shinoj joined us from there. At 9.35pm bus started moving. As we know it was raining heavily in Kodaikanal since last week, we started our jounrney with all prayers. When we started climbing the hill from Dindigul, it was raining heavily outside. It was very scenic there. You will see a dam from the hilltop resembles a field filled with water. I tried to take snaps, but unfortunately could not capture the beauty at its best.

At the hilltop, it was mist everywhere. We reached Kodai bus stand at 11.40am. I called Alex chettan for the route to reach his cottage. He arranged a Travera from Kings Travels. The cottage was 3.5km away from town. We reached "Daney's guest house". We were given two bedrooms at one's cost. He is so kind. He called me before we left to Kodai saying it is better not to go there because of the heavy rain, even though that will affect his business. There was no current in whole Kodaikanal. It was drizzling outside.
We took bath in hot water. We were given Good Friday special appam. As it was Friday, i searched for a Masjid, and the room boy took me to Masjid. It was near by. By then it was okey situation for a walk as rain was stopped. But it was misty. We thought we will call taxi tomorrow as it is already noon. We all geared up for a walk through the mist. We had dosa with chicken curry gravy from a thattukada. Then pointed towards Upper lake view and Pillar Rock. Unfortuantely we could not see anything from upper lake view building because of the mist.

The shopkeepers told the same thing on Suicide point and Pillar rock. So we decided to move on to Kodai town town. It was a very misty evening. Truly, Kodai has been blessled with amazing natural beauty. I hope Kodaikanal will not get commercialized, so it will remain a paradise for a scenic lover. My camera flashed so many times.

Poor display by batsman

Indian pacers stuck to their task to restrict the strong Australian batting line-up to 203 for nine but the batsmen messed it up as they crashed to a 50-run defeat in the tri-series one-dayer in Adelaide yesterday. The pacers especially young Ishanth Sharma and Irfan Pathan were really impressive by getting important wickets regularly. It seems like Sreesanth lost his touch. Munaf Patel justified his selection by getting the crucial wicket of Ricky Ponting. Still i did feel Praveen Kumar would have been right choice since he is an allrounder. When you go with only five specialized batsman, there is always need of all rounders like Praveen Kumar and Pathan.

The way indian batsmen played shows they are not in a position to play 50 over match yet. Especially Rohith Sharma and Yuvraj Singh throw their wickets in crunch times. I must say Uthappa should have batted at No.3 than Irfan Pathan in yesterday's match. The turning point of the match was Dhoni's dismissal.

Let's see how Indian team performs tomorrow against Srilanka.
Wishing Indian team good luck. Hope India will win the match and also get bonus point (Ohhh...Big dreams)..
Chak De India!!!
